Five El Paso Steakhouses That Are Better Than National Chains
Who doesn't love a nice juicy steak? El Paso certainly dpes. In fact the hard question is not, how do you like your steak, it's...where's the best place to GET a steak? Because there are SO many to choose from. Well I complied a list of local restaurants that can cook up a truly delicious steak. Now I love Texas Roadhouse & Ruth Chris Steak House... but these are places that are just as good, perhaps even BETTER, than national steakhouses.
A favorite of mine & my girlfriend's family is the West Texas Chophouse. We always go to the main one located on Airway, but there's a 2nd location at 1317 George Dieter.
Another favorite in Northeast, heading out to Alamogordo. The only downside is the lack of reception you can get when heading out there off of US-54. But once you get there, the food is worth the drive. Located at 8690 Edge of Texas, El Paso. You might remember when KISS featured them during the Taste of El Paso in 2018.
One of the oldest local steakhouses in town, Great American Steakhouse has been around since 1977. Its original location in Vinton is still open; but if you want places that are IN El Paso, there's one at 1300 Airway, and at 1345 George Dieter.
Definitely one of the best steakhouses on the west side, Mesa Street Grill is a great place to take your date. It's also a favorite amongst some of my coworkers. Located at 3800 N Mesa.
Definitely regarded as one of the best steakhouses in the El Paso area, Cattleman's Steakhouse in Fabens is absolutely warranted a spot here. This is most likely the place you think of when you think of great steakhouses. This place is so good that The Texas Bucket List featured them in Season 12.
Honorable Mention - Cattle Baron's:
A favorite in New Mexico & Texas, Cattle Baron's is instantly recognizable being so close to the airport. It's almost a "welcome home" sign for anyone coming back to El Paso. 1700 Airway.
Sorry if this list made you hungry! I know I'm in the mood for steak now.
