The Eastlake area isn't the only part of town exploding with new businesses.

Northwest El Paso is booming, too. More and more shopping and dining establishments are opening locations in the area or announcing plans to do so.

A food hall, West Texas Chophouse, and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, are the latest businesses moving in.

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen will be expanding to the West Towne Marketplace. Its second El Paso location will be opening near Cabela's.

The lone Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, formerly known as Cheddar's Casual Cafe, has existed in east El Paso at Las Palmas Marketplace for years, and I'm amazed it has taken this long for a second location to open.

According to online docs, barring any delays the new Cheddar's is expected to be completed in February 2023.

Down the road from West Town in The Four Corners at Cimarron, West Texas Chophouse has begun construction of its third location.

The local upscale steakhouse sits next to Dutch Bros Coffee. A December 2022 or January 2023 opening is anticipated.

A food hall is also planned for The Four Corners at Cimarron.

Documents filed with the state show Paseo Del Norte Food Hall will be moving in on the other side of Dutch Bros. Food halls are popular in major Texas cities, but this will be a first for El Paso.

The concept is a smorgasbord of eateries under the same roof in a food court-like setting.

Plans call for a 2-story building with on-site parking. There's no word at this time on which restaurants or how many they're eying.
