4 Frida Kahlo Events El Paso Fans Will Love Starting This Weekend

Frida Kahlo fans, don't miss two pop-up markets, sip and paint and stage opera dedicated to the Mexican artist across El Paso beginning this weekend.

This month, El Paso Opera is hosting several events across town celebrating Frida Khalo, including a fun sip and paint, two vendor markets, and a stage opera.

On July 6, 2022, Frida Kahlo would have been 115 years old. In celebration of her life, El Paso Opera, along with a handful of artists and vendors from our community, will be celebrating the fascinating painter with various events across the Sun City.

Frida: Sip & Paint At The Manor

On Friday, August 121, The Manor at Ten Eleven is opening its doors to host a Frida-themed sip and paint featuring the El Paso Opera as you channel your inner artist inspired by Frida Kahlo. To RSVP, email: epmanor.com or call 915-351-9727.

Frida: Farmers Market at Ardovino's Desert Crossing

Saturday morning, fans can visit Ardovino's Desert Crossing for a Frida-themed Farmers Market plus a painting session with one of El Paso's most incredible artists, B.E. Art, helping attendees create their masterpieces.

Frida Fest at Alamo Drafthouse East

This Saturday, August 13, Frida Fest will feature over a dozen vendors featuring Frida-inspired art by local artists, an all-ages look-alike contest, and a special screening of FRIDA, starring Salma Hayek at Alamo Drafthouse (East).

• 1:30-2:30 p.m - Pop-Up Market and El Paso Opera Artist Performances will take place in the lobby and bar.
• 3:00 p.m. - FRIDA screening with Q&A (Tickets are available at drafthouse.com)
• 5:45 p.m. - Frida look-alike contest (All ages are welcome to participate)
