As El Pasoans prepare to adjust to a slow reopening of our area, we see another increase in COVID-19 cases. As of May 6th, The City of El Paso has reported 39 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 1,119 confirmed cases. 

The City of El Paso sadly announced one more COVID-19 related death, of a 90 year old male, with underlying health condition. The total COVID-19 related deaths in El Paso, Texas is now at 23.

El Pasoans are urged to still follow safety precautions as the city begins to reopen, along with the rest of the state of Texas. Have some common sense when going out and about El Paso.  In response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, our City and County officials are working on proposing amendments to the Local Emergency Directive, which will go into place on May 1st, 2020.
