It's official; 2015 Hyundai Sun Bowl will feature the Washington State Cougars and the Miami Hurricanes.

This will mark Miami's second Sun Bowl game in the last 5 years. The 'Canes were last here in 2010, losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 33-17. That match-up drew the largest crowd in the history of the game. Despite temperatures in the low-30s and light snow before and during the game, 54,021 fans turned out.

WSU has previously come to town as well. They last played here in the 2001game, beating Purdue 33-27.

The Cougars are led by head coach is Mike Leach, former head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders from 2000-2009. The Sun Bowl game will mark Leach’s first return to the state of Texas in a football game since he was fired by Texas Tech after the 2009 season for what the school termed "a defiant act of insubordination" amid allegations he acted inappropriately in the treatment of one of his players who had suffered a concussion.

The Cougars and the Hurricanes, who both finished the season with 8-3 records, have never faced each other.

The 2015 Hyundai Sun Bowl game will be played at noon on Saturday, Dec. 26 at noon. Tickets are already on sale at the UTEP ticket center and Ticketmaster outlets.
