The 2011 Grammy Awards

The GRAMMY AWARDS: If you like musical medleys and unusual collaborations, last night's Grammy Awards were for you. Oh, and some trophies were handed out, too.

Overall, the big winners were Lady Antebellum with five Grammys; Lady Gaga with three awards, Jay-Z with three, including two for "Empire State of Mind"; and Eminem with two.

Lady Gaga shocked everyone at the red carpet by showing up in some kind of plastic egg. She entered the stage in it, too, before performing her new single, "Born This Way." Among her many thank-yous for Best Pop Vocal Album, GaGa thanked Whitney Houston of all people, saying that she imagined Whitney singing when she wrote "Born This Way." The rest of us imagined Madonna.
