As you know, I'm trying to lose 20 pounds before my birthday in September.  I've been working out and watching what I eat, but some days it's next to impossible to do either.  Today is such a day...

The day started out normally with the alarm clock going off at 3am.  I packed a container of yogurt, a sensible turkey sandwich, and a banana for breakfast and a snack.  I was planning to work out after work and then come home and take a nap, but those plans got completely changed with a phone call from my mom.  My sister, Cathy, was not feeling well and was, in fact, in the ER.  I ran across town and sat with my sister, Mom, and Dad, and then hung out with my two nieces until well into the afternoon.  Thankfully, my sister seems to be doing better, but I'm wiped out!

The bad thing about a day that starts at 3 in the morning is when your daily schedule gets knocked off, it really gets knocked off.  I hadn't eaten anything since 9:30 this morning, so a couple of minutes ago, I ate a small salad and drank a glass of milk.  I don't think I'm going to make it to the gym today for cardio, so in order to make sure the whole day doesn't go by without exercise, I'm going to kick it old school and do Jane Fonda style leg lifts and ab work!  I think the best thing to do is to make sure some sort of exercise creeps into the day to stay on track.  Dinner tonight - leftover meatloaf and roasted asparagus.  September 24th, here I come!
