Yikes! El Paso Tops The List Of Most Expensive Gas Prices In Texas

Ok, this is a list I DO NOT want El Paso to be a part of!

If you’ve driven around town you've probably noticed our gas prices legit increased from one day to the next and if you thought you were imagining that, you weren't.

According to data from AAA, gas prices in Texas have reached a record high with the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel going up 28 cents from just last week and up to $1.88 compared to this week last year.

The statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $4.62 and the national average is almost $5 a gallon. If you gasped in Spanish after reading that one line, just wait. You’ll gasp even more when you continue reading.

According to AAA, drivers can expect to see even higher gas prices for the next few weeks, if not MONTHS!!

Why are gas prices going up?

It’s simple. Because people can’t get along, that’s why. According to AAA, Russian oil is off the market for many countries due to the war in Ukraine and for that reason, our gas prices will only continue to increase.

Alright, Let’s Talk Numbers:

Drivers in Lubbock, Texas currently have the cheapest gas in the state with an average of $4.42 per gallon. Luckies.

El Paso currently has the most expensive gas in the state with the average price per gallon being $4.88. This is 34 cents more than a week ago and according to AAA, it’s the biggest increase in any Texas city. Ugh!

It could be worse though. California has the most expensive gas prices with an average of $6.40 per gallon.

Aight, I’ll take our $4.88 over $6.40 any day.
