Walmart is looking to hire as many as 300 employees for the new store that is scheduled to open this fall at Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road.  A temporary hiring center has opened at 8825 North Loop Drive, where you can fill out an application from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Walmart also has a program that help's veterans get jobs.  The program is called Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, and it offers a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.  If you are a veteran, you can find more information out about Walmart's program at walmartcareerswithamission.com.

Walmart in Horizon will be hiring both full and part-time associates, and they offer a benefits package.

Horizon mayor Walter Miller said last year that Walmart is the first significant, major retailer to locate in the town.  Miller said he expects the new SuperCenter to draw other new retailers and restaurants to the town, like it has done in El Paso neighborhoods.

Walmart has also been a huge help during Mike and Tricia's Stuff the Bus school supply drive.  We have taken over their parking lots all week, so a big thank you to them for their continued support of the Stuff the Bus school supply drive!
