UTEP's Holiday Program "Humbug & Sugar Plum" Premieres in December

The UTEP Department of Theatre and Dance presents a new holiday event in “Humbug & Sugar Plum” beginning on December 11, 2016.

“Humbug & Sugar Plum” features Old Scrooge and a Jazz Nutcracker Old Scrooge, a one-act version of the classic Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Act two features a Jazz Nutcracker, a jazzy suite of dances based on the quintessential holiday ballet, The Nutcracker, is set in the Big Band era of the 1940s and danced to the irresistible rhythms of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s Harlem Nutcracker.
