Both colleges will be closed this Monday, March 31st 2014 in observance of Cesar Chavez.

Both The University of Texas at El Paso and El Paso Community College will not hold classes on Monday, March 31st in observance of Cesar Chavez Day.

UTEP’s key campus offices, including University Communications, will remain open with reduced staffs while classes and all campus office operating hours will resume as scheduled on Tuesday, April 1.

EPCC classes and office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 1st.

Cesar Chavez was a labor organizer and civil rights activist, best known for his commitment to farm worker’s rights and a push for unionism through nonviolent tactics.

As a matter of fact, a biography based on his life was released today, simply titled, Cesar Chavez. Directed by Diego Luna the movie features, America Ferrera and Rosario Dawson.
