UTEP Celebrating 1966 NCAA Basketball Championship With Free Screening Of “Glory Road”
As part of the 50th anniversary of the 1966 NCAA championship victory of Texas Western College, UTEP is inviting the El Paso community to a free screening of the 2006 film “Glory Road” on Friday, April 8th at the Plaza Theatre in downtown El Paso.
Glory Road stars Josh Lucas portraying Don Haskins who led the first all-black starting line-up for a college basketball team to the NCAA national championship back in 1966.
Tickets can be picked up at the Plaza Theatre box office in advance. Box office hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and while the screening is free, a ticket will be required for entry to the movie.
