UMC Opens Registration This Evening For 5,000 First Doses of Pfizer Vaccine
University Medical Center of El Paso will open registration today for 5,000 first dose Pfizer vaccine appointments via its website beginning at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
El Pasoans are eagerly awaiting to get the first dose of the novel coronavirus vaccination can try to registration today via the UMC website beginning at 6 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
University Medical Center(UMC) posted on their social media platforms today announcing that people qualified for current vaccination under Texas Department of State Health Services vaccination groups 1A and 1B can register at UMCelpaso.org.
Vaccination groups 1A and 1B will qualify to sign up includes:
- Group/Category 1A - First responders and healthcare personnel who are essential to keeping the healthcare system intact
- Group/Category 1B - People 65 years of age and older and those 16 years of age and older with at least one chronic medical condition
With many El Pasoans anxious to get the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, we do not doubt that all 5,000 vaccinations appointments will fill immediately. UMC will close the vaccine registration after reaching the 5,000 registrants; however, the hospital says it will make other opportunities to register for vaccinations in the coming weeks.
For Seniors 75 +:
UMC also announced that it will open its special Super Seniors registration portal (for residents 75 and older) and contact them via phone at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, and will close immediately when available appointments have been exhausted.
There will be 2,500 appointments for Super Seniors available online, and there will be 1,000 Super Senior appointments available through a special telephone appointment line at 915-200-2700.
