I ran across this map that supposedly shows the numbers of people infected with COVID-19 by El Paso zip code. Here's the problem you will find with posts like this that don't originate from the City/County Health Authority - it's false. I spoke with Laura Cruz-Acosta, the City's spokesperson, and she told me that they did not put out that map.

The guy who developed this map as much as says so in his Facebook post. He says that he took the map that the City released on Sunday and extrapolated the numbers and where he thought they were in the individual zip codes. There are going to be a lot of posts, maps, and lists of things you can do to protect yourself or cure yourself of the coronavirus in the days, weeks, and months ahead. You need to pay attention to the person or entity who posted and if they are using official numbers and statistics or if they are just making a wild guess like the guy who made this map.

We all want this coronavirus outbreak to be over and we all want to understand why and where it is happening. The important thing to remember is to pay attention to the official numbers coming out of the City/County Health Authority. We here at KISS FM are also making sure we vet whatever we post online as well.
