6 Ways the King’s Coronation Was Exactly Like a Quinceañera
On Saturday, King Charles was crowned the King of England. As I was watching the whole shindig I thought to myself: why the hell am I watching this? I'm not British, I'm not event into the whole thing; I don't watch "The Crown" like Buzz does!
But nonetheless, I watched it because it was on when I got to work. But as I continued watching I realized something; this Coronation is just like a quinceañera! Hear me out, the Coronation was just like King Charles' quinceañera in the following ways.
There Was a Ceremony
Much like many quinceañeras, there's a ceremony at a church. You walk in, everyone is staring at you- which brings me to point number two...
People You Don't Even Know Show Up
The Coronation had guests from all around the world; even Katy Perry showed up! I can bet that, much like a quinceañera, the King didn't know a few of the guests who attended his special day.
The Bestowal of the Crown is like the Changing of the Shoes
Much like in a quinceañera where they change shoes, in the coronation, they get a crown placed on their head. They even have a little pillow for the crown like they have a pillow for shoes at a quinceañera!
The Family Tension Is High at a Quinceañera
Much like a quinceañera, the one family member who you don't really like but feel obligated to invite, shows up. For the coronation, it was Prince Harry. For a quince, it's usually an aunt or an uncle who no one gets along with.
There's a Party
After the ceremony, there has to be a party. In this case, it was a concert where Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie performed.
The Fancy Car You Get to Cruise In
Quinceañeras usually get a limo, or a really cool car to cruise around in, but King Charles got himself this fancy golden carriage.
As someone who had a Quinceañera, I couldn't help but notice all the similarities! If you're planning on crashing a quince soon be sure to follow my strict rules.
