One of my favorite restaurants in downtown El Paso has closed its doors. The Green Ingredient, which was in the Chase bank building, says the ongoing road construction has been so damaging to its business that they had no choice but to close down. From their Facebook page:

"Sadly construction all over the city have affected us tremendously. We did our best to keep it going but the cost of operating a high-quality restaurant like ours is very high. We are paying the price of keeping truthful to our principles. We refused to lower our quality by choosing lower-grade ingredients. If you wish to continue supporting us you can find us every Saturday at the Downtown Artist and Farmers Market and every other Sunday at the East Side Artisan and Farmers Market. Also The Green Ingredient Express Juice Bar is still operating inside Push gym on the West Side, Monday - Friday. 6100 Dew Dr."

The good news is they will continue to be out at farmers markets on the weekends, but I'm so sorry that I won't be able to drop in and grab a healthy, delicious lunch from them when I'm downtown.
