The Great Khalid Foundation is setting out to help El Paso families by giving away up to 1,000 meal boxes for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I had the pleasure of meeting Khalid back in 2017 during an interview after his performance at Neon Desert Music Festival. Since then, I have been awed by the magnitude of his generosity that led to the creation of The Great Khalid Foundation.

For the last few years, I have witnessed the impact that Khalid's Foundation has had on our community, and their new initiative aims to help feed struggling El Paso families this Thanksgiving.

The Great Thanksgiving Giveaway was created by The Great Khalid Foundation as a special initiative to help local families who have been facing economic hardships due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. Through this program, The Great Khalid Foundation and Townsquare Media, along with community supporters, aim to feed thousands of individuals in the El Paso area.

Up to 1,000 Thanksgiving meal boxes will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis and will contain a turkey, all the sides and fixing’s, and even a pie that will feed up to 6 family members.

The Great Thanksgiving Giveaway will take place on Saturday – November 21, 2020, via drive-through distribution beginning at 10 a.m.

Anyone in need is encouraged to stop by the distribution location and pick up a free meal box to take home and prepare before the Thanksgiving holiday.

The need this year is especially great and to help ease the financial burden of a Thanksgiving meal, The Great Khalid Foundation will be teaming up with FirstLight Federal Credit Union, along with Julio Cerra Allstate, Casa Automotive, and Lovett Law Firm to help feed families who are food insecure.
