Texas Dog Hitches Ride on Side of Ambulance to be with Owner
A San Angelo dog hitched a ride on the side of an ambulance as his owner was taken to the hospital nearly 20 miles away.
Buddy, the 35-pound beagle mix, rode on the side step of the ambulance as his owner, 85-year-old JR Nicholson, was rushed to the hospital in Mason County, Texas. A driver flagged down the ambulance after noticing the pup. EMTs brought him inside the vehicle and to the emergency room with his owner.
EMT Tanner Brown said he's never experienced something like this before.
“It was kind of weird,” Brown told the San Angelo Standard Times. “I guess the dog wanted to be with his owner.”
