In a 4-3 split yesterday, El Paso City Council voted to move ahead with the downtown arena that was initially approved by voters in 2012... ELEVEN years ago.

According to an email I got from Max Grossman, El Paso City Council will discuss CANCELLING the downtown arena project.

Two reps were the only ones to vote for suspending the project and reminded Council that they had voted to try and save money by furloughing city employees.

The Duranguito neighborhood is closed to the public. It's a shame to lose this neighborhood. I wish it would have been better maintained so we wouldn't have to lose it.

Max Grossman always seems to have an ace up his sleeve. It looks like that ace has made it's appearance.

The Texas Supreme Court decided not to hear the case because the case didn't get the required number of justices to grant a petition.

Durangito activists clashed with city reps over the arena at City Council. They got so disruptive, the meeting was closed down at one point to clear the room.

Legal proceedings be damned. The Durangito neighborhood was hit Tuesday morning with what could be a death blow.
