Socorro Youth in Culture (SY!C) is encouraging all young artists to participate in its t-shirt design contest and drive-by showing on Friday, September 25, 2020.

SY!C is a collaborative art program designed for children and youth in our community.

The Clothesline Quarantine Project is being hosted by the Socorro Youth !n Culture (SY!C) after school art program and invites local teens between the ages of 12-17 to enter the T-shirt design contest.

SY!C is a collaborative art program designed for children and youth in the community that engages future generations in finding positive and creative outlets to express their thoughts, ideas, and dreams.

Ever since the pandemic took hold, the Socorro Youth !n Culture’s after school program has gone virtual via its Facebook Learning Labs. These labs include step by step instruction on various topics, techniques, and mediums.

The Clothesline Quarantine Project is but one of many art initiatives that keep our local youth involved in the arts and help spur on creativity.

Clothesline Quarantine Project Details:

  • The deadline to submit artwork is September 17, 2020
  • Prizes: $200, $100, $50, and Amazon Gift Cards
  • Open to ages: 12-17

As part of the project, the Socorro Youth in Culture will be holding a drive-thru art exhibit of the artwork submitted on Saturday, September 25, 2020. The event will take place at 901 N. Rio Vista Rd., Socorro, TX. 79927 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
