Sun City Frightfest Plotting a Spooky October Debut
Something frightfully fun this way comes.
Those who live for everything Halloween have something new to look forward to next month. The splendidly spooky event is called Sun City FrightFest and it’s set for October 9.
Formally known as Southwest Horrorfest, the 2021 version will be more of a family friendly monster-filled fall fest with various types of entertainment, costume contests, and a “Monster Market.”
One of the scheduled diversions are wrestling matches put on by Lucha League. Not your typical Halloween-type event, but at least some of the Luchadors will be wearing masks.
The independent pro wrestling league based in El Paso will present several matches including a tag team championship, and professional wrestler Gangrel is making a special appearance in the main event. Gangrel wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from the late ‘90s to the early 2000’s
Sun City Frightfest will also include a Monster-Con for cosplay loving monster and horror fans, and a Monster Market with vendors and artists selling their spine-tingling wares and mystical-type crafts and products.
And because the spooky season is the best excuse there is to wear fun costumes at every opportunity that presents itself in the month of October, costume contests for adults and kids will also be part of the day’s frightful festivities.
Sun City Frightfest will take place on Saturday, October 9, at Raves Club, 6816 Commerce.
