Statewide Amber Alert in Effect for Missing El Paso Woman and Her Two Children
UPDATE 3/10/17: DPS cancels AMBER Alert. Subject in custody. Mother and children are safe.
A statewide Amber Alert continues Friday morning (March 10) for a missing El Paso mother and her two children.
KVIA Television in El Paso reports that yesterday afternoon, Brenda Estrada and her two children were kidnapped at gunpoint by her boyfriend Miguel Angel Mendez.
According to Texas DPS, Mendez is described as a 29-year-old white male, 5’10”, weighing 210 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. Mendez and the victims were last seen in a green 4-door Acura TL with the Texas license plate HGV-4546.
Mendez is considered armed and dangerous. The two nine-year-old children kidnapped are identified as Brandon Jesus Estrada and Ashley Michelle Estrada.
Ashley Michelle Estrada is described as a white, female, nine years old, born on March 25, 2007, 4'6" in height, weighing 100 lbs, with black hair, brown eyes and wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans. Brandon Jesus Estrada is described as a white, male, nine years old, born on March 1, 2008, 4'5" in height, weighing 90 lbs, with black hair, brown eyes, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
Any information about the abduction of Brenda Estrada from El Paso and her two children should be called into local police.
