Spice Up Your Cinco de Mayo at the First New Mexico Tamale Fest

If you agree with the statement above then you are in luck because you can celebrate Cinco De Mayo this year at the first-ever New Mexico Tamale Festival.

The event is the first of its kind in Las Cruces and it is set to be the largest Cinco De Mayo event of the year in the City of Crosses.

The New Mexico Tamale Festival kicks off on Friday, May 5th at 5 p.m. at the Plaza De Las Cruces.

Guests who join the fun will be able to enjoy tamale sampling which will include samples of four full size tamales from 15 different styles of tamales- wait….. THERE’S 15 STYLES OF TAMALES?! Why didn’t anyone ever tell me that?!

Tickets for the event start at $25 and will not only include the tamale sampling, but they will also receive a commemorative plate, fork, and a cool backpack.

The festival will also include a Mexican beer garden, classic, custom car, truck and bike show, music, ballet folklorico, mariachi and a lot more fun for the whole family.
