Here’s a sneak peek of the movie lineup slated for this year’s Plaza Classic Film Festival.

The Plaza Classic Film Festival which began back in 2008 has screened more than 800 movies and has attracted more than 440,000 people from all over the world. What's even more awesome is that this film festival happens to be the largest in the world and it takes place right here in our beautiful city of El Paso.

The movie lineup isn’t out yet but we do know a few of the movies that will be screened this year including the 50th anniversary screening of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid at 7 p.m. Friday, August 2, and the 1978 cult horror classic The Legacy at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 3, both in the Plaza Theatre. The Plaza Classic Film Festival will also feature Sam Elliot and his wife, actress Katharine Ross who will be honored with the Plaza Classic Award for lifetime achievement.

In addition to the couple’s appearances, the Plaza Classic Film Festival will hold the 80th-anniversary screening of The Wizard of Oz, including the Audrey Hepburn favorite My Fair Lady, a new 4K restoration of 2001: A Space Odyssey and 1939’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
