The actor from the famous "Anything For Selenas" scene from the iconic 1997 Selena biopic has passed away and now a GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.

Frank Mendez, the former teacher, and actor who is best known for his role as Second Cholo in the 1997 Selena film has died.

Apart from his acting credits, Mendez was an after-school film and TV teacher at Raul Quintanilla Middle School in Dallas from 1999 through 2001.

Over the weekend, one of his former students, Madison Shepard, announced on Twitter that Mendez had died early Sunday morning.

Frank Mendez is best known for the "Anything for Selenas" iconic scene where he and the driver of a 1969 Chevrolet Impala pull over to help Selena and her crew get her tour bus out of the mud.

During the scene, Mendez is riding in the passenger seat when he and the First Cholo character (Erick Carillo), realize it is Selena, it is then that Mendez delivers his most famous line: “Pos, órale, rewind!”

The news of his death was made public when his husband, Blas Amaya-Mendez, and former students posted on social media that Mendez had passed away on Sunday, October 4, after being on life support.
