Sales of ‘Free Spirit’ has El Paso Singer Khalid Freaking Out
Khalid has been making quite the name for himself in the music world. Since debuting on the charts in 2017, the critically acclaimed R&B singer from El Paso has notched 20 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
Sunday (4/14/19), Khalid hit another music milestone that had the 21-year-old freaking out.
His second full-length album, Free Spirit, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart earning the Americas High alum the first No. 1 debut of his short, illustrious career.
According to Billboard, Free Spirit sold an album-equivalent of 202,000 units.
Notably, Free Spirit is the first R&B album to reach No. 1 in nearly a year. The last to do so was The Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy EP, which bowed atop the tally dated April 14, 2018.
An understandably jacked Khalid posted a series of super-exited Twitter messages thanking fans and professing his undying love to them.
Khalid's come up is real, y'all. Congrats and mad love to El Paso’s Music Ambassador©
