Rey Mysterio Pays Tribute to Eddie Guerrero at Wrestlemania 39
Wrestlemania 39 featured two nights of action and over 160,000 total fans at SoFi Stadium in southern California. On Saturday, one of the matches included new WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio Jr. battle his son Dominik. Mysterio's Hall of Fame acceptance speech was extra special, since it included a tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero.
If that was not enough, Mysterio joined legendary Rap and Hip Hop star Snoop Dogg in as he entered SoFi in a vintage lowrider with Guerrero's old theme song and photos of the legendary El Paso pro wrestler on the video board.
Mysterio even brought back the Latino World Order (LWO), a group that was originally formed in 1998 by Guerrero when he was wrestling for WCW. Ironically, the group had feuded with Mysterio since he refused to join the LWO at the time. Although he passed away in 2005, Guerrero's mystique grows larger every passing year.
The WWE also filmed a short behind the scenes video of Mysterio seeing the lowrider for the first time before he joined Snoop Dogg to make his Wrestlemania entrance.
As for the Wrestlemania match, Rey defeated his son Dominik, but the family feud on WWE TV appears far from over. Although they are currently not advertised to appear, there is an excellent chance that both Rey and Dominik will be in El Paso in a few weeks for the house show, Sunday Stunner on April 19th. Tickets are still available for the live non-televised event, which will also feature Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Austin Theory, Liv Morgan, and Jimmy and Jey Uso.
