You know I love cooking. I also love learning how to make new food. Cooking isn't just about a recipe, it's learning about new flavors and new cooking methods. Cooking is also learning about new cultures, that's why I'm super excited about an upcoming cooking class.

PBS El Paso is teaming up with the Raindrop Turkish House - El Paso for a free cooking class on February 22. The event will be held from noon - 3:00 p.m. at the PBS El Paso studio, 9050 Viscount, Ste. A440.

The Raindrop Turkish House cooking class is part of the PBS El Paso celebration of the second season of the series 'No Passport Required.' You'll not only learn how to make new dishes but you'll also get a multi-cultural lesson in food and fellowship!

On the menu for the class will be Orman Kebabi (Forest Kebab), Pilav, and Baklava. I'm Lebanese on my mother's side of the family so I know how to make the Lebanese versions of these dishes. It will be very interesting to learn the Turkish spin on them. As with Mexican food, not all Middle Eastern food is the same. Everyone has their own take on the same foods depending on the region of the Middle East they are from.

Not only will you learn how to make the dishes listed, you will also get a gift and a raffle will be held.

You do need to RSVP because seating is limited. Your RSVP ensures a reserved spot for you and your supplies. You can click here for more information about this free class.
