Chaos erupted at Capitol Hill during Congress' electoral college vote count on the morning of January 6th, 2020.

While this shocking moment happened, some El Pasoans took to San Jacinto Plaza to peacefully rally together to show their support for President Donald Trump.

Rallies in support of Trump erupted all around our county, in order to question our democracy.

Is it a little weird to see it happen in El Paso? Yes and no, because everyone has the right to protest.

To better understand why it did happen in El Paso, we scroll to KTSM's J Russell tweeted featuring a video of the rally's organizer, Irene Armendariz-Jackson.

From the video, you can see that this event was peaceful, unlike what happened at Capitol Hill.

Now, as to why I said this is weird to see in El Paso is because I don't think we should ever forget what happened to El Paso on August 3rd, 2019, which can be another incident influenced by words and beliefs of President Trump and those who support him.

Words have power. President Trump's words are incredibly powerful. He knows it and yet, it seems he only uses them to see the world burn.

We don't need to burn, El Paso.
