The coronavirus has changed everything and it has also made us semi-housebound. If you have beasties at home you know that having your precious angels at home since spring break has been, shall we say, pretty danged tough to pull off. Yes, we all love our kids, but for heaven's sake, three meals a day, listening to them gripe about being bored, and suddenly being a teacher in a one room schoolhouse aka the kitchen isn't easy on anyone. I mean, when did we all sign up to be living on Little House on the Prairie?

I'm not having to deal with trying to keep a house full of beasties entertained but if you are, print this hummingbird from the Wyler Aerial Tramway Facebook page and let your kiddos go to town decorating and coloring them. Give each kid 12 copies of the hummingbird and then put them out on the back porch with glitter, glue, crayons, and colored pencils and let their imaginations run wild. They can decorate their very own flock of hummingbirds and then you can use string or thread and hang them from their bedroom ceilings with thumbtacks.

If you don't have access to a printer, you can make this copy of the photo large on your kid's laptop and have them trace it. If they're very young, you might want to trace it yourself because kids tend to press down hard and you don't want to have to buy a new laptop! After all this coronavirus stuff is past us, you can save those hummingbirds and when your kiddos get older you can remind them of how they spent some time with their very own flock of hummingbirds.
