Oregon Street Closures Will Affect Traffic and Bus Routes in Downtown El Paso

The City of El Paso will be closing Oregon Street this coming Monday through April 11, 2015, affecting traffic and bus routes.

Beginning this Monday, Oregon Street will be closed to all traffic between Main Drive and Mills Avenue. The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of an underground transformer necessary for the renovation of San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso.

Due to this closure, traffic along with bus routes will be affected. Sun Metro will be required to detour certain routes including routes: 10, 11, 14, 15, 34, 35, 36, 50, and Mesa Brio.

Sun Metro staff will monitor the impacted area and drivers will make courtesy stops as required.

Bus Route Detours

Route 10 Detour:

Buses traveling outbound, leaving the Downtown Transfer Center, will turn left onto Santa Fe, right onto Franklin, left onto Oregon returning to the regular route.

Buses traveling inbound, south on Oregon, will turn right onto Missouri, left onto Santa Fe continuing to the Downtown Transfer Center.

Route 11, 14, 15 & Brio Detour:

Buses traveling outbound, north on Santa Fe, will turn right onto Franklin, left onto Oregon returning to the regular route.

Buses traveling inbound, south on Oregon, will turn right onto Missouri, left onto Santa Fe continuing to the Downtown Transfer Center.

Route 34, 35, 36 & 50 Detour:

Buses traveling outbound, north on Oregon, will turn right onto Paisano, left onto Mesa returning to the regular route.

Buses traveling inbound, south on Oregon, will turn right onto Missouri, left onto Santa Fe continuing to the Downtown Transfer Center.
