One Of The Last Munchkins Has Died

Awwww, man, there is some really sad news out of Hollywood.  One of the last remaining actors who played a munchkin in the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, has died.

Karl Slover played the lead trumpeter in the Munchkin band, as well as other roles in the movie.  He was making appearances as part of Wizard of Oz celebrations as recently as a few days ago.  Check out the article about Karl, and then check out a classic clip of him from the Wizard of Oz:

I recently travelled to Nashville to check out the musical, Wicked, the 'prequel' to Wizard of Oz.  I've been an Oz fan ever since I watched it for the first time in the den at my Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie's house when I was but a tot!  Rest in peace, Karl, and thanks for all the wonderful memories!
