One Last Chance To Ghost Hunt Jefferson High Before Demolition

Discover which ghosts and ghouls roam the halls at Jefferson High School when Ghosts 915 hosts one of their last ghost tours in the old main building before it gets demolished.

As they say, "Once a Fox-Always a Fox."

If you hadn't noticed, Jefferson High School is looking different these days thanks to an El Paso Independent School District bond consisting of demolition, new additions, restructuring of sidewalks, driveways, and asphalt paving.

In other words, La Jeff is getting a massive facelift that includes the demolition of the original school later this summer, but before it does, El Pasoans have one last chance to ghost hunt the main building, which dates back to the 1940s.

And just like the dozens of other schools in the El Paso region, Thomas Jefferson High School is also haunted, or so they say.

According to the book by Dennis William Hauck titled Haunted Places: The National Directory: Ghostly Abodes, Sacred Sites, UFO Landings, and Other Supernatural Locations, the high school is where the devil once appeared to students in 1947, a couple of years before the school fully opened as Jefferson High (formerly Burleson Elementary).

If that isn't enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, then I don't know what to tell you other than I'm sure that there is plenty of paranormal activity going on in the shadows.

To explore and perhaps make contact with the otherworldly, Ghosts915 will be hosting one of the last ghost tours inside the main building in April.

Jefferson High School is home to the Silver Foxes and one of the nationally recognized magnet schools on campus with careers in the medical field. Plus, it's also well known for its annual balls, the selection of an ROTC queen, and the awarding of its exclusive "J" sweaters.
