Remember when Ascarate Park was the place to cruise in El Paso?

Guys in their drop tops and low-lows would roll around the horseshoe shaped road showing off their rides to the appreciative crowd chilling and grilling along the route.

Well if you remember when and wish those days would stage a comeback, you'll love this bit of news: Last year’s Cruise Night was so well received, El Paso County Parks and Recreation is doing it again. “Cruise Ascarate” is set to happen Sunday, August 25.

Car clubs and car enthusiasts with classic cars and trucks, hot rods, and tricked-out euro cars are invited to show their ride pride and cruise the lake like back in the day. Aww, yeah! Somebody better be bumpin' Suavecito.

Food trucks and live music will be part of the mix as well, according to the event post. Sounds like the perfect spot to hang with the fam on a late summer El Paso evening.
