El Paso Animal Service is adopting new innovative tech to help reunite lost pets, thanks to the Petco Love Lost Database.

The new Petco Love tech-savvy searchable national database uses patented facial recognition technology to find lost pets quicker and easier.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit formerly known as the Petco Foundation, which shares a mission with Animal Services to help reunite lost pets with their families should they ever go missing.

Anyone who has ever lost a pet knows the desperation of trying to find them. To help ease the finding process, El Paso Animal Services is proudly joining forces with Petco by introducing the Petco Love Lost Database.

The new Petco Love Lost Database is now using its breakthrough facial recognition technology to help find missing cats and dogs not just in our area but across the nation.

How Does It Work?

  • The simple-to-use tool assists any pet parent or person who finds a lost pet upload photos of a missing dog or cat.
  • The image is then immediately scanned to determine whether the lost pet is at a participating shelter or with a neighbor in the community.

Ramon Herrera, El Paso Animal Services Interim Director, expressed excitement over the new tool saying,

There’s nothing more rewarding than reuniting families with their beloved pets and with Petco Love Lost, along with our other tools, we’re confident it can lead to many more happy reunions, right here in El Paso.

If you’ve lost or found a pet, Petco Love Lost is now available to help get them home. Visit petcolovelost.org for more details and the nearest Petco location near you.
