I love the Magoffin Home, but it you think you know Magoffin history, think again. There are tales of the Magoffin Home that haven't been told, but you can be in on them with Nerd Night at the Magoffin Home. You will hear about half-dead servants and rabid cats, and listen to a collection of surprising stories from three history nerds. While you listening to the stories you can enjoy a picnic under the stars.

The speakers will be Machelle Wood, Jeffry Harris, and Bernie Sargent. Wood is the Education and Public Event Coordinator at the Magoffin Home, and a self-described general historic busybody. Wood says she is a fan of the strange and unusual and will be telling the tales of Nearly Dead Servants and Rabid Cats.

Jeffry Harris is widely considered Nerd Royalty in El Paso. He is the Site Manager of the Magoffin Home and Board Member for the Texas Association of Museums. Jeff helped write the book on how to run Historic House Museums.

Bernie Sargent is the Chairman of the Board for the Trost Society and servant to boards for seven other El Paso nonprofit boards. He is known as the King of El Paso History. If you've been on a historic tour in El Paso, you’ve probably met Bernie!

The event is at the Magoffin Home, 120 Magoffin Ave, Friday, April 26, from 7 - 9 p.m. You can BYOBB – Bring your own blanket and beverages. There will be chair seating available to the first 50 guests. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online by clicking here.
