Multiple Texas Cities Named Best Cities for Naked Gardening
There are many things Lubbock is known for.
Texas Tech University, Buddy Holly, cotton, world-class medical hub, the growing wine industry, and of course, dust storms. One thing I never would have guessed? Gardening. Add in the element of nudity and I doubt anyone could have guessed that.
But apparently, Lubbock made the Top 100 cities best for naked gardening. And Lubbock isn't the only Texas town that ranks in the top 100 as 13 Texas towns made the list.
So how did LawnStarter, a lawn mowing scheduling service, expose these cities?
According to the Houston Chronicle, the report was compiled before World Naked Gardening Day and ranked cities with the highest Google search interests dealing with "nudist" and "World Naked Gardening Day" over the last year. They also compared the "nudist population size," legality of public nudity and being topless, and, of course gardener-friendliness. They also looked into weather conditions and safety.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the city of Austin took the top spot in the United States, which really shouldn't surprise anyone:
Overall, Austin claimed the No. 1 spot, followed by Orlando, Fla., Atlanta, Ga., Baton Rouge, La., and Tampa, Fla., in order. No other Texas cities made the top 10, although Dallas (No. 16) and Houston (No. 19) cracked the top 20. Other Texas cities in the top 50 include Forth Worth (No. 37), El Paso (No. 43) and Corpus Christi (No. 50).
A total of seven Texas cities hit the list between No. 51 and 100. This includes San Antonio (No. 52), Lubbock (No. 63), Laredo (No. 67), Plano (No. 70), Irving (No. 77), Arlington (No. 78) and Garland (No. 85).
Maybe this is why more and more people around Lubbock are putting up taller fences? They want their privacy, and for good reason. I don't know, maybe it's just me but naked gardening sounds like it could be dangerous.
