FirstLight FCU Teams Up with ‘Mija, Yes You Can’ for FREE ‘Money Wise’ Series

Talking about finances is never a fun thing to do. I’m pretty sure we can all agree on that. Well, these two El Paso organizations are teaming up to help ease the pain when it comes to talking about your finances and how to get yourself out of debt!

FirstLight Federal Credit Union has teamed up with the local non-profit organization, Mija, Yes You Can, to provide locals with a series of FREE financial education workshops that will happen throughout the year: 'Money Wise'

"We are thrilled to partner with Mija, Yes you can® to bring these workshops to our community. At FirstLight, we believe that empowering individuals with financial knowledge is a key step towards building a stronger and more resilient community," said Mayra Garcia Lopez, Grants & Community Impact Manager at FirstLight FCU.

Both organizations are hoping to promote financial empowerment with these workshops and assure guests that these workshops will provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to empower them to make informed financial decisions and achieve their ambitions in life.

The first of four workshops took place earlier this year on January 25th and it dealt with the topic of debt! 

The ‘Money Wise’ workshops are for both women and men and will be conducted by financial experts from FirstLight FCU as well as guest speakers from Mija, Yes you can.® 

Participants will have the chance to engage in interactive sessions, ask questions, and receive personalized advice to address their specific financial concerns. Oh, and did we mention that guests will get FREE lunch and other goodies?
