Major General Dana Pittard has been the commanding general at Fort Bliss since July of 2010.  His last day is this Thursday, so last night he sat down to talk about Fort Bliss past, present, and future on ABC-7 Xtra.

Pittard spoke about the difficult month that Fort Bliss has been having with the deaths of eight soldiers in two separate incidents, as well as the challenges that have come with sequestration.

Pittard does plan on retiring in El Paso, his hometown, after his next assignment, which will also be his last.  The post has really done well under Maj. Gen. Pittard - we thank him for his service not only to the men and women under his command, but to the El Paso community!
