Who Qualifies For These Scholarships?

‘Mija, Yes You Can’ will be awarding scholarships to eligible women and girls in the greater El Paso area who are ready to take on their academic journey in summer or fall 2024.

Whether you're a Class of 2024 grad heading off to college, a collegiate Mija continuing your studies, or a Mija Scholar diving into graduate school, you are encouraged to apply for this great opportunity!

What makes a Mija stand out?

The MIja scholarship committee will be looking for women who are passionate about their career paths, especially in fields where women are underrepresented (hello, STEM, law enforcement, med school!).

Community involvement is also a big deal – if you’ve been giving back, they definitely want to hear about it! And, of course, academic excellence is key – so make sure your GPA shines.

Important dates to remember:

Applications open on September 1, 2024, and the deadline is October 15, 2024.

"Education is a core pillar of our mission, and it's something we are deeply passionate about. Thanks to the success of fundraising events like our annual ‘Mija Market’ and the sales of our Mija merchandise, we’ve been able to raise the funds needed to offer scholarships to women in our community."
