Actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila just donated 25,000 surgical masks to the University Medical Center of El Paso.

Thanks to the Lincoln Motor Company along with its Brand Ambassador Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila sent 25,000 surgical masks to University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) where they will be used for recovering patients of COVID 19.

According to the University Medical Center press release, another 20,000 masks will be distributed to the El Paso County Medical Society. The masks will be donated and distributed through the UMC Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) organization that manages all major donations. Estela Casas, the newly appointed UMC Foundation Executive Director said that “This donation of surgical masks to the hospital, through UMC Foundation, is a milestone of generosity to the El Paso community”.

The McConaughey’s have been on a road trip delivering more than 125,000 face masks across Texas to select hospitals and while we would have loved to get a glimpse of the Hollywood couple - this generous donation to University Medical Center is currently being shipped via UPS.

Matthew McConaughey was last in El Paso on September 1, 2019, when he made a surprise appearance at Khalid’s ‘A Night For Sun City’ – a benefit concert that raised $500,000 for the El Paso Community Foundation Victims’ Fund of the August 3 Walmart shootings.

Both Matthew and Camila McConaughey have been documenting their journey on social media and University Medical Center encourages El Pasoans to log on to thank them for helping our community during this time of need.
