Local Restaurants Featured On Cooking Channel Show

El Paso restaurants Tacoholics, Lucy’s Café, and Chicos Tacos will be featured on the Sept. 1 episode of “Taco Trip” on Cooking Channel.

The television show follows El Paso native, Chef Aarón Sánchez across the United States as he seeks out the country’s best tacos.  The El Paso episode of “Taco Trip” will air on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. MDT on Time Warner Cable channel 163, DirecTV channel 232 and Dish channel 113.

Jessie Peña, founder of Tacoholics is organizing a viewing party at his restaurant located inside Funkmeyers Rec Room at 1506 N. Lee Trevino Drive.  The viewing party is free to attend and will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Peña said, "‘Taco Trip’ was a great way to feature some of El Paso's awesome food and culture; the episode should spark more curiosity to get the Sun City additional national exposure in the food scene.”

It’s been an exciting time for Tacoholics, which also recently won the inaugural Gateway to Texas Food Truck Throwdown in Anthony, TX on the weekend of Aug. 15-16.
