Local Artists To Create Masterpieces Live at 2017 StreetFest Art Park
Once again, StreetFest is bringing El Paso's most talented artists together to not only show off their works -- but to CREATE them on the spot.
On top of that, we're going to award the best creation with $200 and the title of 2017 StreetFest Live Art Champion, thanks to the City of El Paso's Museum and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD). Each artist receives a stipend for supplies, a large wooden canvas, and one full festival day to create a StreetFest-themed art piece. Which artist will take this year’s prize?
Well, while you're figuring that out, you can also watch an amazing, multi-artist mural blossom before your eyes. Los Visionaries will be taking over one of the walls of the Pedestrian Pathway and creating a piece of art that will literally become part of Downtown El Paso. This local art collective has been featured at StreetFest’s Art Park for three years. Their group continues to grow and attract new local artists. One of the artists, Rick Uribe (a.k.a. Enks), is the former winner of Skin Wars, a national body-painting competition aired on Game Show Network.
The Art Park is free for all and will take place during both days of the festival.
