Listen to FDR’s WWII Veteran’s Day Prayer [VIDEO]
During World War II, as 160,000 Allied troops landed in Normandy to liberate France, President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed the nation. He asked the country to pray for our troops who were fighting to keep us, and the world free. This radio broadcast is from June 6, 1944, but his words are just as true today.
To our veterans, thank you for your service. Thank you for putting yourselves in harm's way so that we may enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear. We owe you our lives.
