This weekend will be the final weekend to walk among the festive holiday lights and decor at San Jacinto Plaza.

Sunday, January 6, 2019, will be the last day to take a pic in front of the city’s tricked out living Christmas tree, or snap an Insta with one of the lighted displays in the shape of a gift box, star and ornament in the background.

After this weekend the holiday decorations will all get packed up and put away until the next Celebration of Lights.

San Jacinto Plaza has been decked out with more than 400,000 mini-lights adorning every one of the 120 trees, a nativity scene, a 30-foot artificial tree with 900 ornaments and 18,400 mini-lights, and a large walk-through tunnel since mid-November. The Mills Street Holiday Walkway and Paseo de las Luces on South El Paso Street are also festively lit, making the area in and around the plaza the best place to take Christmassy selfies and group photos.

The lights will be turned on daily from 5:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. through this Sunday, according to a City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department press release.
