Popular ABC “Good Morning America” anchor Michael Strahan is now a member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

He was inducted with his family in attendance.

The Texas native hails from Houston and played his college football at Texas Southern University. He still has the school record for sacks.

That led to a 15-year career in the NFL with the New York Giants and a Super Bowl. He was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But everything is bigger in Texas, right? So this honor was huge for the now-everywhere TV anchor and host.

“The biggest catalysts for me, of course, is my family,” Strahan said during his speech.

He thanked his mother, Louise, and his late father. But he shared a hilarious anecdote about his brothers.

He is the youngest of six boys and he said it was a nickname - “Bob” - they gave him when he was 13 years old that motivated him. It stood for “booty on back” or “big ole butt.”

“I can laugh about it now, but I wasn’t laughing about it when I was 13. I was crying.”

But he says that’s what inspired him to work out, go to the gym and even buy the Jane Fonda workout tapes.

He then thanked his brothers for being his source of inspiration that led to a hall-of-fame career on a number of levels.

“Being the little brother, you always want to make your big brothers proud.”

Probably safe to say he’s made his big brothers proud - Texas-sized proud.
