It's nearly summer time and that means a lot of people are ready to hit the road and see what's out there - and in a state as big as Texas, surely there are places to visit.

Travel Lemming, an online travel guide with 10 million readers, just put a list out in time for summer of the best USA places to check out as part of your summer travels.

It lists the 150 best things to do in the USA.

But it may surprise you how few in that list are actually located in Texas, especially given its size.

Three.

That's it. Only three.

And only one of them cracks the top 50.

They are, according to Travel Lemming:

#47: Museum of Ice Cream (Austin, TX)
#62: Galveston Island State Park (Galveston, TX)
#71: Katy Trail (Dallas, TX)

The shortest trip from El Paso will be to the Museum of Ice Cream. Travel Lemming says of the museum of delectable dessert: "The Museum of Ice Cream is guaranteed to awaken your inner child. It highlights the history of ice cream, photography-worthy art, unlimited ice cream samples, and an Edible Slime experience."

Who doesn't like the sound of their inner child being awoken through delicious ice cream?

Travel Lemming says the list is made up of activities based on the expert travelers' first-hand human experiences, not an AI-generated list.

If you're looking for something a little closer to El Paso, there are three listed located in New Mexico and four in Arizona.

As for what tops the list - Support the Mission of the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.
