New Recall Issued For This Common Item Sold All Over Texas
There are a lot of guns in Texas and Texans can carry any type of edged weapon they want ... even swords. You'd never expect these things to be deadly though.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC) yet another product recall has been issued by Walmart. It's not food, drink or drug this time though, it's a water/beverage container.
Around 850,000 of these suckers were sold across the country and online. A crazy top that somehow "launches" itself off has hurt some folks and actually blinded 2 people.
You wouldn't think a water/beverage bottle could hurt you ... unless someone hit you with it or shot it out of a cannon or something ... but this one can. For some weird reason, when users try to open it, the top attacks.
The lid can forcefully eject, posing serious impact and laceration hazards, when a consumer attempts to open the capped bottles after food, carbonated beverages or perishable beverages, such as juice or milk, are stored inside over time. - cpsc.gov
What Water Bottle Was Recalled?
It's the Ozark Trail 64oz water bottle is silver with a black, (possibly explosive), top. It's model #83-662 and has the Ozark Trail logo on the side. The model # doesn't appear on the product but IS on the packaging. If you have one, you can return it to any Walmart for a full refund.
You get thirsty, try and grab a sip of some tasty agua and BANG - you're blind. That's messed up. 2 peeps have suffered permanent vision loss after getting hit in the eye by the tops which can also cause "impact injuries" and lacerations.

What Else Has Been Recalled?
I actually looked and there are a TON of other things the CPSC has initiated recalls on. Everything from bikes to rocking chairs as well as various food and drug items. Check out their website or visit their X page to learn more. There's also a bunch of safety warnings on their webpage.
