As children in Texas get ready to back to school, one El Paso middle school has made a ban on all forms of clothing. To no one's surprise, people are NOT happy about this & they definitely made their voices heard online.

Charles Middle School in El Paso, Texas made a ban on all black clothing, with a few exceptions

Yes this middle school in question is from El Paso; the principal of Charles Middle School made a statement saying that all-black clothing is "associated with depression and mental health issues". Now they did state that children are allowed to wear black shorts for P.E. or during a free day. Students just can't wear it every day.

So the big question is...

How does El Paso feel about this all-black clothing ban?

Well...most people were NOT happy about it...at all.

As someone who LOVES wearing all-black (did it all throughout middle & high school), I was really surprised by this decision. I wasn't the only one; many people shared their opinions when FitFam posted it on Instagram. Here are some of the top comments:

"Implement mental health services in the school instead of infringing on a kid’s expression of self." - briannacristina

"So instead of offering some sort of counseling group for the children that seem like they’re “mentally not okay” their idea is for the children to “hide it” 💀 boy. WHAT" - untalentedprodigy

"They'll ban black clothes but not that **** Edgar cut???" - j_diamond187

"Lol instead of addressing the real issues like bullying you’re banning a color" - luvmemamas

"You can be depressed in a pink or rainbow outfit" - arelyhepburn

"A depressed kid is still a depressed kid no matter what they are wearing. I was wearing bright cheerful clothes...What actually fixed it was treating the root problem, not something superficial like clothing. If mental health issues and stress are such a rampant problem at that school, then the staff needs to look at how they are currently handling such issues and ramp up support for the students going through such issues!...I suggest that school takes note of such things instead of focusing on what colors students wear. 👏" - itzamarshall

This is the 2nd time that an El Paso middle school has ruled a banning on certain clothing; Wiggs Middle School put a ban on students wearing skirts, dresses & skorts on July 31st.

It'll definitely be interesting to see if this changes once the school year starts; I know judging by how many people commented on this, this probably won't end well.
