El Paso Groove Metal Legends P. Razors Are Heading East

El Paso's own P. Razors are about to shred the east coast for the first time in about 20 years and the tour is making news all over the country.

California based Bravewords newsletter was one of the most recent metal oriented sites to write about the tour and the significance of Pissing Razors to the metal world in general.

The tour will feature special guests Single Bullet Theory and, (on some dates), Byzantine.

Bravewords had high praise for Pissing Razors, summing up their overall influence on Heavy Metal with this:

 Formed in the mid-’90s, Pissing Razors gained a reputation for relentless touring and uncompromising live shows. From the late ’90s through the early 2000s, the band seemed to live on the road, clocking in tours alongside Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, W.A.S.P., and select US and European dates with Anthrax and NYHC legends Pro-Pain. Summing Up Pissing Razors Locally

I agree with Bravewords but there's more to the tale. I've personally watched Pissing Razors grown and change. Both their world and the world around them as they have, indeed, inspired and/or shaped many other bands.

Not to mention growing themselves with Pissing Razors and their countless other endeavors including Ministry, Speed Razor, Overkill, Chasing Solace, Gorilla Death Box, Jo-Hobo Witness and many more.

They're also, basically, the Godfathers of live, original local rock in El Paso having kick started the El Paso original music scene in the early 90's when few bars or venues accepted original bands; preferring instead to lure customers in with more familiar music.

"The Attic", El Paso's answer to CBGB's or The Whiskey, changed all that when opened by drummer/founding member Eddy Razor and his brother/founding member Danny.
